“No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” – Micah 6:8

Right now, most of us find ourselves attempting to navigate uncharted waters. Our routines are upside down, responsibilities are scrambled, and living hour by hour is unsettling. There’s a new take on the news every hour, everything feels so divided, and jobs look completely different than they did last month, if they’re even still there. We’re forced to keep extra plates spinning in our already full hands.

With expectations pressing in from every side, as we add more and more, it’s easy to be buried under the weight of it all. We see what others are doing and wonder if we’re doing enough? Am I good enough?

We’re asking the wrong questions. Friend, we will never be enough to meet the demands of the world. And thankfully, that’s not the standard we’re held to.

God isn’t asking for perfection. He’s asking for our presence. He is walking with us as we seek to do the right thing, in kindness and humility.

In our jobs.

In our families.

In our communities.

In our staying home.

In our social media interactions.

What if we threw off the inferred expectations of the people around us and looked to Jesus instead? What does it look like for YOU, right now, right where you are, to do what is right, with kindness and a humble heart?
